Vision Community Meeting

I attended the vision meeting at Franklin tonight and was disappointed. The districts latest PR piece was shown featuring Randy and other administrators talking about the process that led to our shared vision from several years ago. Why was John Hiltz on the video? This meeting was heavily orchestrated and controlled by the moderator Donna McDowell. The attendees were asked to fill out a bubble sheet survey that asked things they would not have knowledge of. If you want to know what the stakeholders are interested in you have to stop talking and listen. This meeting was proof positive that Vision means nothing without action.

My neighbor went to the meeting scheduled for Wednesday the 20th at Stevenson and did not find anyone there. Was this meeting canceled?

That's why it makes no sense to even attend any of LPS's so called "informational meetings". They are nothing but PR mouthpiece feelgood BS. All at the expense of educational $$$ that could be going to the classroom. If LPS wanted to do anything of "Vision" they would shut up, listen, and act in the best interests of students and parents, not in their own selfish best interests. They have long forgotten who they serve and what their functions, duties, responsibilites and obligations are.

The children come first, the teachers, educators, classrooms next, and the last thing on the list should be anything to do with all of the administrators running the central office, especially the super and his immediate staff of fiscal & operational bumbling idiots.

What VISION does LPS have? Getting more accredidations so they can wave them around while continuing to lose hundreds of more students over their so called projections?

Do something about retaining and gaining students, not about what the staff can boast about that meansd very little to the customer.

I was unable to attend any of the meetings but was planning on taking the survey. If the meetings were like the survey, they were pretty sad. Asking for feedback but providing no way to collect it rings false. Check it out: http://www.zoomerang.com/recipient/survey-...=WEB227FS3ATM97

Good to see the survey.....ok..so I lied. What's up with the survey? There's no real way to express your opinion. It's for looks, to appear as if they really care what you think. More of the same 'ol same 'ol.
